Statement of Faith
We Believe
in:
The Bible, which
is inspired by the Holy Spirit in the canonical Scripture as originally given, and
is the inerrant and authoritative Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:21)
The triune Godhead in
three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26, Deuteronomy 6:4;
Matthew 28:19; 2Corinthians 13:14)
The Father, who is Spirit, infinite,
eternal, and unchangeable in all His attributes. (John 4:24; Exodus 34:6)
The Son, Jesus Christ, is true man and true
God, who in His incarnation was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary;
lived a sinless life, and died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to
the Scriptures. By the power of God, He was raised from the dead , in the same body
now glorified. He ascended into Heaven where, at the right hand of God, He
continually makes intercession for us. He shall personally return to take His bride,
the Church, to heaven. (John 1:1; Isaiah 7:14; Hebrews 4:15; 7:25; Romans
5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:11)
The Holy Spirit, is a divine person,
who is co-equal with the Father and the Son and of the same nature. He convicts the
world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates the believing sinner;
indwells, guides, instructs, comforts and empowers the believer for Godly living and
service. The Holy Spirit guides and gives power to the church, the body of Christ,
to worship God and to fulfill the Great Commission. (John 14:26; 15:26;
16:8-14; Acts 5:3-4; Acts 1:8)
The personality of Satan,
a fallen arch-angel, who is called the devil. (Isaiah 14:12-17, Ezekiel 28:11-19,
Revelation 20:2)
The fall and lost estate
of man, whose total depravity makes necessary the new birth. (Genesis 2:17, Genesis
3, Romans 5:12; John 3:5)
Salvation by grace
through faith in the shed blood and substitutionary death of Jesus Christ our Lord
and Savior. (Titus 3:4-7; Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 5:8)
The eternal blessedness
of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost. (Matthew 25:46;
Philippians 3:21)
The Church, the
bride of Christ: in its universal aspect comprising the whole body of those who have been
born of the spirit; and in its local expression established for worship, mutual
edification, and witness. (Ephesians 1:22,23; 5:25-32; Acts 15:41; 16,5)
Christ's Great
Commission to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, making
disciples, baptizing, and teaching. (Matthew 28:18-20)
