ABOUT GGNL

Global Good News Literature is a ministry that is dedicated to fulfill the Lord’s Great Commission to "Go into all the World and preach the Gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15). This Great commission was not given to the Apostle’s only, but to all believers of all generations until the Lords’ second coming. It doesn't mean that every believer goes into the entire world, but every believer has a part to play in the fulfillment of this command. Some of us would go into the harvest and bring souls to the kingdom; others would support those who go.

The word of God says, "The god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them" (2 Cor. 4:4). The devil uses all kinds of blinders to blind unbelievers. Some are blinded by money, pleasure, religion, fame, immorality, etc. The vision the Lord has given us is that, just as a man with a cataract of the eye needs a skilled surgeon to uncover what has covered his vision; it also takes a specially anointed message to take off each blinder an unbeliever is blinded with.

Our MOTTO is: There is no blinder that the devil has, without a corresponding truth from the Holy Spirit to unveil it..   That is why the word of God says, "You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). Accordingly, the Lord led us to prepare different kinds of tracts so that they would be used by the Holy Spirit to take off the blinders the devil has put on people.

WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF THIS MINISTRY?

  1. To reach lost souls with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, primarily through gospel literature, but not limited to it.

  2. To equip saints for witnessing and fulfilling the Great Commission.

  3. To make tracts and witnessing materials available to churches and ministries.

  4. To help new believers be established in Christ.

WHAT HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH THIS MINISTRY?

  1. So far we have tracts in the following languages; English, Amharic, Tigrigna, Oromiffa, Spanish, Arabic, Somali, and Italian. Our tracts are mainly targeted for specific group of people.  We have tracts & literature for those who regard Saint Mary and Angels more highly than they regard Jesus,   for Muslims, for Jehovah's witnesses, for those who deny the Trinity (Oneness or Only Jesus doctrine), etc...

  2. Close to 1.5 million tracts have been distributed in Ethiopia.

  3. We have new believers booklet in English, Amharic, Tigrigna, and Oromiffa languages.

  4. We have a booklet on evangelism (in Amharic only).

  5. We have a correspondence class on basic Christian teachings (in Amharic only).

  6. A Bible survey (Vol. I - From Genesis to Joshua)  is getting ready for printing (in Amharic).

We receive lots of letters every month asking us for tracts. Some are testimonies of conversions. One letter said: "The pictorial tract (referring to 'This was your life' in Amharic) you sent us is being used as an invitation card for many souls in our city to come to the kingdom of God".  We also received a letter from someone who was miraculously saved after reading a tract left on a public telephone by a Christian. He said that while he was reading the tract he felt the heaviness in his life lifted and a voice was telling him to go to church. After some hesitation and struggle he gave in to the insistent voice that was telling him to go to church. After he went to church the preacher was basically preaching the same thing he read in the tract. When the invitation was made he gave his life to the Lord. Two months after he was saved he sent us another letter telling us that his family has been saved and that they have started a Bible study in their home.

The scarcity of tracts in Ethiopia

On the average, one tract we send to Ethiopia would be read by 10 or more people. Some cannot give these tracts away because they only have one copy. They either lend the tract to somebody or use it while they are witnessing. We actually received a letter from someone who was saved by reading a borrowed tract. That meant he had to give back the tract that brought him eternal life. In response to his letter we sent him enough tracts for himself and for those he wanted to witness to. The usefulness of these tracts is two-fold:

  1. To bring new souls to the Kingdom.

  2. To help Christians be better witnesses for the Lord.

On behalf of over 50 million Ethiopians, we would like to present an appeal for your prayerful support so that we can reach our people for the Lord. After the collapse of 17 years of communism in Ethiopia, there is an open door for the Gospel, but we don't know how long this open door would last. At the same time many false religions are getting into the country as never before.

In the past, many people in the world were touched by the famine and drought in Ethiopia and responded sacrificially. Now, there is a spiritual hunger that needs more attention. We have to reach them with the 'Bread of Life'. These tracts are bringing them the 'Bread of Life' who is Jesus Christ, but our resources are very limited compared to the great demand we receive.

Most of the letters we receive say, "We ask you in the name of Jesus, to send us these tracts". On their behalf, we ask you in the name of Jesus to pray for this ministry and be fellow laborers with us so that we can meet the tremendous demand we get from them.

Finally, we would like to leave you with the question:

Are you doing your part to fulfill the Great Commission?
