BLESSED MARY

mary.jpg (44040 bytes)

Mother of Jesus

"For behold from henceforth all generations

shall call me blessed." Luke 1:48

This verse tells us that Saint Mary shall be held in high esteem and honor not only in her generation but for all generations to come, including our present generation. According to this verse any religion or individual who does not honor Saint Mary is disobeying God's Word.

Let us look further into the Word of God to find our what more the Word of God says about Saint Mary. Even though Mary is the mother of Jesus in the flesh, she calls Jesus "my Lord and Savior" because he is the eternal Son of God. "And Mary said, 'my soul dose magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior." Luke 1:46-47

In John chapter two, we hear Mary telling the servants, "Whatsoever He (Jesus) says unto you do it." John 2:5 This divine advice was not only for the servants but to everyone who has ears to hear. It is a similar advice as the one given by God to the three disciples on the mount of transfiguration. "Behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, 'This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him'." Matthew 17:5

God the father and Saint Mary both are telling us to hear Jesus and to do whatsoever he says. In obedience to these commands, let us hear what Jesus had to say in the Word of God. In John 14:6 we hear Jesus saying, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no man comes to the father but by me." This verse clearly tells us that the only way to God the father is through his Son Jesus Christ. In addition, Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest."

If Jesus said "Come unto me", and "No man comes to the father but by me", then we should go directly to him and to nobody else, because he is the only Way to the father.   Saint Mary never told us to "come to her", but to do whatsoever He (Jesus) tells us to do. The best way to honor Saint Mary is by obeying what she said: "Whatsoever Jesus says unto you do it." She never pointed to herself but to Jesus.

The Bible tells us in numerous places that Jesus is the only way to God and to salvation. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." 1 Timothy 2:5

"I am the door, by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved" John 10:9.  This means there is no other door to God and to salvation other than Jesus Christ.

Jesus also said, "Behold I knock at the door (of your heart) , if any man hear my voice, and opens the door, I will come in." Rev 3:20

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name (other than Jesus Christ) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12

The only way any human being can be saved is by calling the same Lord and Savior Mary called upon in Luke 1:46-47. The Word of God says "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9-10

If you are not absolutely sure that if you die today you would go to heaven, and you want to be sure, pray the following prayer sincerely.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

"Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe that you were born of the virgin Mary to save me from my sin. I believe that you died for my sins and you were raised from the dead. Forgive me of all the sins I have committed from the day I was born until this moment. I believe that you are the only way to Eternal Life. I open my heart to you and accept you as my personal Lord and savior. Amen."

If you prayed this prayer from your heart, the Word of God assures you that you have been accepted into the family of God. "But as many as received him (Jesus), to them gave he power to become a child of God." John 1:12

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him (Jesus), should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16.

If you prayed the above prayer and gave your life to the Lord, read "what next" and our follow up booklet titled "Receiving Christ".

If you have questions/comments, we want to hear from you.
