WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR? This very question was presented to Jesus by a self-righteous lawyer in Luke 10:25-37. Jesus answer was given indirectly through the parable of the Good Samaritan. In this parable, Jesus explaines how a man, wounded and left half dead by robbers, was ignored by religious folks and helped by someone who was a Samaritan, a tribe that was despised by the religious folks. After telling this parable, Jesus told the self-righteous lawyer to "Go and do likewise". The golden rule tells us to "do unto others as you want others to do unto you". If you dont have the assurance of eternal life the first thing you need to do is receive this free gift through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, but if you have the assurance of eternal life, you are still responsible to help reach those that are going to eternity without this assurance.
"When I say to the wicked, You will surely die, and YOU DO NOT WARN HIM or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way that he may live, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. Yet if you have warned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered yourself. Ezekiel 3:18-19
HOW CAN I HELP? You can help primarily through your prayers that God will help us accomplish the vision he gave us to reach our neighborhoods for the Lord. The reason you received this message is because the Lord led us to send the good news of his saving grace to everybody in your neighborhood. |
